The Secret Organization is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, although the true confrontation won’t take place until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that Cole Escola will appear in the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. Bon Clay can use their power to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve laid a hand on with their right hand. The actor, who is non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the live-action series, as in the source material and cartoon version.

This performer is joined by a number of new cast members set to bring Baroque Works to reality, including head Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the cast as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Though Bon Clay is a important part of Baroque Works, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the third season. Considering the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden segment, this signals a significant shift in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the plot development.

The actor’s combination of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the part. Along with their recent voice performance in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s most celebrated figures.

Netflix's live-action One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
